Dana expects its full-year sales to be $10.7 billion if UAW strikes through Oct. 31, or $10.2 billion with strikes through Dec. 31. GM and Ford have pulled their full-year forecasts this week to account for impacts from the UAW strikes.

Details of the proposed agreement, which needs to be ratified by UAW workers, were not immediately available. General Dynamics has said it expects to negotiate the terms of 28 agreements with unions and works councils, covering about 12,600 employees this year.

The union has demanded a 40% wage hike, including a 20% immediate increase, improvements in benefits, as well as covering EV battery plant workers under union agreements. He said the Detroit Three had converged on a 23% wage hike offer and made progress on other issues but told UAW members "there is more to be won". Fain also told UAW members the talks were nearing an end.

The UAW strike has hit the one-month mark, with more than 34,000 union members working at Ford, General Motors and Chrysler parent Stellantis out on strike, including those who went out on strike at Ford's cash-cow Kentucky pickup truck plant last week. The supplier is considering temporary layoffs and other ways to cut spending to counter the impact of UAW strikes, Durand told reporters. "Given the organic growth out-performance across the regions (excluding North America) and continued execution of synergies, the outlook for 2024 organic growth and margin expansion looks intact," Citi analysts wrote in a client note. It reiterated a 2023 sales forecast of 26.5 billion to 27.5 billion euros and an operating margin target of 5.2% to 6.2%.

Mack Trucks and UAW announced the tentative agreement early Monday, followed by releasing "highlights" of the deal later in the week to members. Neither UAW nor Mack Trucks have publicly released the tentative contract ahead of employee meetings to detail the agreement and voting this weekend. Another Mack Trucks worker descried the deal as "disgraceful" and an "insult" compared to their expectations and what's currently being negotiated by UAW international leaders with the Detroit automakers, also known as the Big Three. "They are just pushing this [tentative agreement] through so they don't have to deal with us while the Big Three are negotiating." "Our strike is working, but we’re not there yet," UAW President Shawn Fain said in a livestreamed update on negotiations with the three automakers. Threatening to strike against GM's Arlington, Texas, plant that makes cash-cow SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade spurred GM to agree that EV battery factories would become union plants with UAW contracts, Fain said. GM is building three Ultium joint-venture battery plants with South Korea's LG Energy Solution (373220.KS). GM is building a fourth U.S. battery plant with Samsung SDI (006400.KS) in Indiana. Fain also said on Friday that the UAW could still strike against highly profitable pickup truck plants if progress stalls.
